Alvar Aalto Chair 69 for Artek with Blue Laminate

Alvar Aalto designed Chair 69 for Artek as part of his family of practical birch seating. This vintage example combines a warm birch frame with a deep blue laminate seat, giving the familiar form a clear graphic contrast.

The chair uses Aalto’s characteristic bent L-leg construction together with a gently curved backrest and compact, balanced proportions. Its straightforward structure makes the model suitable for dining, desk or occasional use.

The blue laminate adds a strong but understated colour accent without changing the restrained character of the design. Naturally aged birch brings warmth and visible variation, allowing the chair to work comfortably in both contemporary and vintage interiors.
