Alvar Aalto Chair 66 for Artek, 2026
Alvar Aalto Chair 66 for Artek, 2026
Designed by Alvar Aalto in 1935, Chair 66 is one of Artek’s most recognisable and versatile seating designs. Its distinctive tall backrest gives the chair a strong architectural presence, while the softly curved birch components and rounded upholstered seat create a balanced and comfortable overall form.
The chair is constructed using Aalto’s iconic bentwood L-leg technique, which allows the legs to be attached directly to the seat without a separate supporting frame. This innovative construction became one of the defining elements of Finnish modernist furniture and continues to make Chair 66 a practical and timeless choice for both dining and workspace interiors.
The chair’s scale and clear profile allow it to work naturally as an individual seating piece in both contemporary and vintage interiors.
