About the designer
Arne Jacobsen
Arne Jacobsen worked across architecture, interiors, furniture and objects, often designing the contents of a building as carefully as the building itself. His furniture combines controlled geometry with organic silhouettes and an economy of material. Many designs developed for specific architectural settings later entered wider production and became enduring parts of Danish modern design.
Jacobsen’s collaboration with Fritz Hansen produced models including the Ant and Series 7. The official Arne Jacobsen archive dates Series 7 to 1955 and describes it as a larger, four-legged development after the Ant. The family later expanded through different bases, armrests, upholstery and accessories. Other Jacobsen designs have their own manufacturer and edition histories, so labels, shell construction, base and finish should always be read together.
Vintage moulded chairs often show wear at their edges, lacquer, upholstery and metal bases. Sets may contain small variations in colour or production details. Pino evaluates the identity and condition of each piece and notes known restoration when relevant. If exact matching is important for an existing set, request detailed photographs and measurements before ordering.
Browse the available Jacobsen pieces above or compare previously sourced Danish furniture in the Pino Archive. For a particular model, colour, base or quantity, send Pino a sourcing request. Delivery estimates and specialist transport information are available in Shipping.
Many Jacobsen chairs remained in production for decades, which means an authentic example may be early, later or recently manufactured. Pino does not treat every genuine piece as the same vintage edition; the product information should identify the maker and known period as precisely as available evidence allows.
Questions
Buying vintage design
Are all Pino Interiors pieces authentic?
Yes. Pino Interiors only acquires and sells pieces that we have established to be authentic. If we are not confident about a piece’s authenticity, we do not offer it for sale.
Can I request more information about a piece?
Yes. Send us the product link and tell us which details you would like to inspect. We can provide additional photographs, measurements or video when needed.
Can Pino source another piece by this designer?
Possibly. Send us the designer, model and your preferred materials, colour, quantity and delivery location. Vintage availability varies, so timing cannot be guaranteed.
