Artek Chair 69 by Alvar Aalto with Dark Grey Upholstery

Designed by Alvar Aalto for Artek, Chair 69 is one of the most recognisable examples of Finnish modernist furniture design. Originally introduced in the 1930s, the chair combines a practical everyday form with Aalto’s characteristic use of bent birch. The chair features a warm birch frame, gently curved backrest and a dark grey upholstered seat.

Its lightweight construction and balanced proportions make it suitable as a dining chair, desk chair or occasional seating. The understated combination of natural wood and dark upholstery works well in both contemporary and traditional interiors.

Chair 69 was designed with durability and versatility in mind, making it a long-standing part of Artek’s collection and a familiar presence in Finnish homes and public spaces.

Vintage condition with visible age-related wear, scratches and marks on the wooden parts. The dark grey faux leather upholstery shows light signs of use. One screw is missing. Please review all images for details.
