Louis Poulsen PH 5 Pendant Lamps by Poul Henningsen

The iconic PH 5 pendant lamp was designed by Poul Henningsen for Louis Poulsen in 1958 and has since become one of the most recognizable classics of Danish lighting design. Henningsen developed the lamp around his pioneering multi-shade system, created to provide soft, comfortable and glare-free illumination.

The distinctive layered construction gives the PH 5 its sculptural silhouette while directing and reflecting the light through the different shades. Its carefully balanced proportions and functional approach to lighting are characteristic of Henningsen’s work and have helped make the PH 5 an enduring design icon.
