Artek Drop-Leaf Dining Table by Alvar Aalto

A practical drop-leaf dining table designed by Alvar Aalto for Artek. The table combines Aalto’s characteristic understated form with a space-saving extension mechanism, allowing the surface to be enlarged when additional seating or working space is needed.

When closed, the table has compact proportions suitable for smaller dining areas, kitchens or workspaces. The hinged extension increases the length from 120 cm to 165 cm, making the table adaptable for both everyday use and larger gatherings.

Its simple construction and timeless design allow it to pair naturally with a wide range of vintage and contemporary chairs. The table provides a practical surface while keeping its materials, proportions and construction clearly expressed.
