Artek Finger Joint Dining Table by Alvar Aalto, 1950s

This vintage Artek dining table was designed by Alvar Aalto and dates from the 1950s. Made from birch, it combines a simple rectangular top with Aalto’s characteristic bent L-legs and an early double finger-joint construction.

The visible joint detail is associated with older Artek production and reflects the carefully developed woodworking behind Aalto’s practical furniture. Its restrained structure keeps the warm birch and balanced proportions at the centre of the design.

Measuring 121 × 75 cm, the table provides a useful dining or working surface without occupying excessive space. Its compact scale makes it easy to combine with both vintage and contemporary chairs.

The table is in good vintage condition with beautiful age-related patina. The top, frame and legs show visible marks, scratches, surface wear and signs of use consistent with age. Please review all images for details.
