Tobia Scarpa Soriana Armchair and Ottoman in Cognac Leather for Cassina

Designed by Afra and Tobia Scarpa for Cassina in 1969, the Soriana is one of the most recognisable Italian seating designs of its era. Its generous, low form and visible chrome structure make it instantly distinctive. The design received the Compasso d'Oro award in 1970 and remains a key piece of Italian postmodern design.

This original Soriana armchair and ottoman are upholstered in cognac brown leather. The soft, gathered upholstery is held by the chrome-plated frame, creating the relaxed shape the model is known for. The ottoman has its original castors, allowing it to be moved easily as needed.

A strong and comfortable set for a living room, lounge, office or hospitality interior. The chair’s scale and clear profile allow it to work naturally as an individual seating piece in both contemporary and vintage interiors.

This set is in good original vintage condition with normal patina and wear consistent with age. The leather is fully intact and in good condition. There is some light darkening and wear to both the armchair and ottoman, which adds to the character of the original leather. The chrome frame is clean.
