Pauli Blomstedt 1300 Credenza Sideboard for Tetrimäki

The Post Deco 1300 Credenza is a sculptural Finnish sideboard designed by architect Pauli E. Blomstedt and produced in Finland by Tetrimäki. Its black surfaces and sweeping chrome-plated tubular frame give the low storage piece a distinctive functionalist character.

Blomstedt developed modern tubular-steel furniture during the early 1930s, when the material represented an advanced approach to furniture construction. Tetrimäki has produced the Post Deco collection as a later Finnish edition since the early 1990s, although the exact production date of this example is not known.

The credenza combines a black-painted MDF top with birch drawers and a chrome-plated steel frame. Four drawers provide enclosed storage, while two semicircular open shelves and a raised display platform extend the composition at either end.

One credenza is available. It is in very neat used condition with only light normal signs of use, including fine hairline scratches on the top; the original painted finish remains intact, with no major damage reported.

At 134 cm wide, the elongated yet relatively shallow form offers useful storage without appearing visually heavy. It works well against a wall in a living room, bedroom or hallway, where its curved chrome framework and asymmetric levels can also support a carefully arranged display.
